Edgbaston have signed a new three-year contract with Birmingham digital agency Class.
Having originally partnered together in 2016 the Birmingham cricket and C&E venue has extended the agreement with Class up to 2023. Class will continue their role as exclusive digital agency providing design, development and digital support services.
Edgbaston recently announced record profits for the 2018/19 financial year with a 54% increase in year-on-year revenue to £26.6 million after hosting the opening Ashes Test and five Cricket World Cup games. Off field digital performance across retail and C&E products also grew. Gross online sales for the Edgbaston shop increased by 243% and online Christmas party enquiries increased by 223%. Meeting room and C&E enquiries via the website also rose by 61%.
As part of the new agreement individual websites for Warwickshire CCC and the Birmingham Bears will move back under a newly developed Edgbaston website. The site will also host team and match information for England Cricket and Birmingham Phoenix – the team in ECB’s new short-form tournament, The Hundred. Other areas of the business including C&E, Warwickshire Cricket Board and the Edgbaston Foundation will also feature prominently in the redesign.
Chris Pyatt, Class Creative, said: “We are delighted to continue our close relationship with Edgbaston for another three years. Our mission in 2016 was to drive both online conversion and growth for the business which we achieved. We delivered on the KPIs we set out together and have been rewarded for our efforts.”
The new Edgbaston website will launch in time for the 2020 cricket season.
